Statement of Rights & Responsibilities

2

The school is a community and the rules and regulations of a school are the laws of that community. All those enjoying the rights of citizenship in the school community must also accept the responsibilities of citizenship. Among the responsibilities of a school citizenship are respecting the laws of the community and the rights of other citizens. Each student is expected to contribute to the advancement of the community through cooperative conduct and personal acceptance of responsibilities.

Beliefs

We believe that :

  • Every person can learn.
  • Quality education is our first consideration and goal.
  • School time is precious and should be used productively.
  • High expectations raise the level of achievement.
  • The learning process is most effective when the student is an active participant.
  • The best education results from the cooperative efforts of students, parents, teachers, and community.
  • Effective cooperative interaction demands honesty, integrity, responsibility and mutual respect.
  • Each person is a special individual whose unique talents, capabilities, aptitudes, and personality should be recognized and fostered.
  • Every student and teacher has the right to a safe, supportive and productive learning environment.
  • A consistent code of discipline throughout the school leads to mutual respect.
  • The student has the final responsibility for his or her behavior and performance.
  • School pride is the logical outcome of responsible, enthusiastic community involvement.
  • The pursuit of excellence brings happiness.
